The 75th Walter & Olga Strand Junior/Senior Chapman Scotch City Championship.
The 75th annual Walter & Olga Strand Junior/Senior Chapman Scotch City Championship will be contested at Bartley Cavanaugh Golf Course on Saturday, September 9, 2023.
This tournament is open to all golfers with or without an established USGA handicap index. Juniors must be 18 years of age or younger, and the senior partner must be at least 15 years older than their junior partner. Each team must secure their own partner.
This is an 18-hole, 2-player team event. The competition will use a Chapman Scotch format (Hit, Switch and Choose). Complete rules will be explained on the day of play. There will be two divisions – a Handicap Division and a Callaway Division.
The Handicap Division will be for teams where both players have a current GHIN. The difference between the team member’s Indexes may not be more than 15. The Callaway Division will be for teams with no GHIN or where only one team partner has a GHIN. For players with a GHIN, the September 1, 2023, GHIN will be used to determine the player and team handicaps.
Ties for the Championship will be broken by matching scorecards.
The entry fee is $139 per 2-person team, and includes green fee, tee prizes, power cart, bag lunch, and awards. The field is limited to only the first 50 team paid entries.
