Sienna Lyford Birdies #18 To Take Home 27th California State Fair Golf Championship at Bartley Cavanaugh GC By One Over Alaythia Hinds
Homegrown sensation Sienna Lyford junior career at Granite Bay HS reads like a champion’s diary:

Sierra Foothill All-League First Team all four years 35.3 scoring average her senior year Played second a the 2017 CIF Northern California regionals (3-under, 70) 2017 CIF State Championship competitor Helped Granite Bay High School Girls golf team earn three league titles, three Division 1 North Section titles, three Sac-Joaquin Masters titles, three Northern California Regionals appearances, while making their first CIF State Championship appearance 2016 Sacramento All-City Team Army Reserve National Scholar Athlete Recipient
Add that to a wildly successful four-year career for UC Irvine and her recent defense of her Sacramento County Women’s Golf Championship, it’s easy to see how she was able to battle the wild hot elements (temperatures reached 105 in the final round) and win the 27th Annual California State Fair Golf Championship at Bartley Cavanaugh GC this weekend.
Lyford fired a 68-69 score of 137 to finish -7 and beat second-place finisher and teenager Alaythia Hinds of Rancho Murieta (69-69) by one stroke. Lyford made a clutch birdie on her final hole to secure the victory. Hinds doesn’t graduate high school until 2024 so we’re going to be seeing lots more of the talented young lady on future leaderboards.
Behind Lyford and Hinds was another trio of excellent golf who all finished at -2 (142). Those included Sac State’s Caitlin Maurice, another teenage sensation in Darla May Dela Torre and Sammie Miller of Brentwood.
